AI-generated content

AI-generated content means images, text, videos, voices or music that an artificial intelligence program has produced from a description or template.

It is created in seconds and can be varied at will.

For screen networks such tools help with ongoing upkeep: a background image for the winter promotion, variants of a creative for portrait and landscape, text suggestions in several languages or a spoken announcement. Translations and image edits such as cutting out a product are also often done with AI today.

Operators should note three points. First, AI can produce errors, such as false facts, distorted hands or illegible text within an image; every item therefore needs human review before approval. Second, the tool's terms of use govern what the results may be used for, and content generated purely by machine is widely considered not to be protected by copyright, so others may use it too. Third, a labelling obligation may apply, especially for deceptively realistic depictions. The origin of every creative should be recorded.
