Campaign flight

The campaign flight is the period from the first to the last day on which a campaign's creatives are played.

It is set when the campaign is booked. Within the flight, days, times or sites can be restricted further.

In traditional out-of-home advertising, flights are booked in weeks or fixed periods; digitally, a single day or even a single hour is possible. A campaign for a concert might run in the three weeks before the date, and a discount promotion exactly as long as the offer is valid. In the management system, start and end are stored as the validity period of the content.

Operators should record start and end clearly, including time and time zone, so that a promotion does not run a day too early or too late. With price offers in particular, the end must take effect on time. Extensions and pauses should be visible in the play report so that the quantity invoiced matches the actual flight.
