Cooler door display

A cooler door display is a screen on or in the glass door of a refrigerated cabinet in grocery retail that shows offers and product information right next to the chilled goods.

There are narrow screens on the door frame and doors whose glass itself acts as a display.

At the chiller, the decision for drinks, dairy products or ready meals is often made within seconds. A display on the door shows offers, new products or notes such as vegetarian alternatives. Manufacturers often book such spaces as part of retail media. Some systems respond to the door being opened.

Cold, moisture and condensation place demands on the technology. The display must not block the view of the goods, otherwise customers open doors just to search, which costs energy. Heat from the display should not enter the chilled space. Prices on the display must match the shelf price.
