EV charger advertising
EV charger advertising refers to screens on or in charging stations for electric cars that show advertising and content for drivers and passers-by alongside information about the charging process.
The chargers stand in supermarket car parks, at motorway services, in multi-storey car parks and on public streets.
While charging, drivers often stay near the vehicle for a while. The screen then shows the charge level and duration, together with offers from the supermarket next door or advertising from a media owner. If the charger stands by the street, passers-by and motorists see it too. Some operators partly finance the charging point through the advertising.
The screens stand outdoors and need protection against weather and damage as well as high brightness. Specific rules apply to price information for charging; advertising must not crowd out this information. If the charger is in the field of view of road traffic, road traffic and building law may set limits. Permission should be clarified before installation.
