Media sales house

A media sales house sells advertising time on screen networks, which it need not own itself, to advertisers and media agencies.

It often bundles several networks into a larger offer. In return it receives a share of the revenue.

A network operator with screens in forty pharmacies is too small on its own for a nationwide campaign. A sales house combines such networks, for example by venue type or region, and offers them together, either directly or through a supply-side platform. It handles sales and proposals, and often also the intake of creatives and invoicing with the advertiser.

In the marketing contract, operators should clarify whether the sales house sells exclusively, who sets the prices, which sectors are excluded and how outages are settled. It also matters how the sales house's bookings reach the operator's own system and how the proof of play flows back. A sales house can also run screens of its own, in which case it is a network operator as well.
