Double-sided display

A double-sided display has two picture areas in one shared enclosure, mounted back to back and facing opposite directions.

Both sides can show the same or different content. The design saves space and hides the rear of a single device.

Typical locations are shop windows, totems in walkways, platforms and aisles in shopping centres, where people approach from both directions. In a shop window, one side is often very bright and faces outward, while the other has normal brightness and faces into the shop. This allows advertising outside and a notice for customers inside.

Operators should clarify whether both sides are fed by one shared player or by two separate players, and how the sides appear as separate outputs in the CMS. Two bright picture areas in one enclosure produce a lot of heat, so cooling is important. Where the sides differ in brightness, power consumption and service life of the two halves also differ.
