Glossary A–ZLetter S
Showroom
A showroom is a display space where a company presents its products, such as furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, machinery or fashion.
Screens there show what cannot be put on display: variants, applications, processes and references.
In a kitchen showroom, a screen shows fronts and colours that are not in the room. In an industrial showroom, videos explain how a machine works in operation. Configurators let customers put variants together, and video walls showcase the brand. When a product is picked up, a screen next to it can show matching content.
In a showroom, the screen supports the conversation; it does not replace it. Advisers should be able to call up content specifically during conversations. Product data and prices must be up to date, ideally from a central data source. Because the space often receives customers by appointment, personal welcome messages are only worthwhile if they are reliable and agreed.
