Wall mount

A wall mount is a bracket for fixing a display securely to a wall.

There are fixed, tilting, swivelling and extending versions. It is usually screwed to the display via the VESA hole pattern.

In screen networks, the choice of mount depends on the location: a flat, fixed mount is enough in a corridor, while a tilting one helps with high-hanging displays so that the picture does not reflect. For video walls there are mounts that can be pulled out individually, so that a display can be reached for service without removing its neighbours. Space for a player behind the display is another point.

Operators should check the wall, because drywall, tiles or glass do not bear loads like concrete. The mount must be approved for the weight and size. Behind the display there needs to be space for air and cables. Not every display may hang in portrait orientation; the data sheet states the permitted orientations. In public areas, lockable mounts are sensible so that display and player do not disappear.
