Employee communication

Employee communication covers all the ways in which a company or organisation informs its own staff.

Screens in break rooms, corridors, canteens or production halls are part of this and also reach employees who do not have their own computer workstation.

Typical content includes company news, dates, shift plans, canteen menus, safety notices, key figures, welcomes for new colleagues or congratulations. Particularly in production, logistics, retail or care, where many people have no access to email and intranet at work, screens close a gap. Content often comes automatically from existing systems such as calendars or spreadsheets.

Operators should define responsibilities clearly: who supplies content, who approves it, who removes outdated items? Photos and names of employees usually require their consent. If screens show performance data, the works council may have a right of co-determination. Screens replace neither legally required notices, which must be legible in full, nor safety signs. Content for staff should be chosen so that it still fits when visitors read along.
